How your keys are protected

No wallet is impossible to hack, so we won't claim that. Here is exactly what we do, and what is still on you.

Keys never leave your device. Your phrase is generated in your browser and is never sent to any server. There are no accounts and no server-side key storage.

Encrypted at rest. Your vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your password with PBKDF2-SHA256 (600,000 iterations), stored in your browser's local database.

Auto-lock. The wallet locks after inactivity or when you've been away, wiping decrypted keys from memory. Repeated wrong passwords are slowed down.

Locked-down page. The wallet runs with a strict content security policy: no third-party scripts, scripts only from our own domain and integrity-checked, and network access limited to a short list of price and blockchain services.

Well-known building blocks. Key derivation, signing and transactions use widely used open-source libraries (@solana/web3.js, @scure/bip39, @scure/bip32, viem).

Plain warnings. We will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key, on any site, message or call. If anyone does, it's a scam.

Still your responsibility: your recovery phrase and password. If someone gets your phrase, or malware is on your device, they can take your funds. If you lose both, nobody can recover them, including us. This is beta software that has not yet had an independent security audit. Start small.

Questions

Do you hold my coins or keys?

No. Craic Hub Wallet is non-custodial. Your keys exist only on your device, encrypted with your password. We can't see, recover or move your funds.

What if I forget my password?

We can't reset it. You can erase the wallet from your device and restore it with your recovery phrase. Without the phrase, the funds can't be recovered.

Can I import my existing wallet?

Yes. Choose "I already have a wallet" and paste your recovery phrase or a private key. Only do this on this site, at thehubexchange.com/wallet.

What does it cost?

The wallet is free. Network fees go to the blockchain. Swaps include a small platform fee (0% to 0.75%, lower for $CRAIC holders) that supports Craic Hub. Fees paid in $CRAIC are burned.

Is it audited?

Not yet. It's beta software. We use well-known open-source libraries, but the wallet itself hasn't had an independent audit. Please start with small amounts.
